installation help for sybperl-2.10_01 in linux

Hi everybody,
have any body installed the sybperl-2.x on redhat 5.2. can you send me
installation  process.  is Dynamic loading  of sybperl possible in linux.
During my installation following errors were coming.
i used static loading. when did i execute the command make test i given errors
like .
/usr/lib/perl5/i686-linux/5.00404/CORE/libperl.a(pp.o):in function
'perl_pp_crypt' : pp.o(.text+ox5d41) : undefined  reference to crypt
make [1]: *** perl Error i
make[1] : Leaving directory /usr/local/sybperl-2.10-01
make : Error 2
can  anybody help me
