Re: Booting problem

Kunal ,

It is one of the tragedies of M$ that its OS spoil the sport. They alway
would like to take command of things around them and Win98 is no exception.
Accordingly it takes charge of the MBR, make it difficult to restore the
original settings.

One of the workarounds would be if your BIOS supports (hopefully a new
system), u can boot from the CD rom with the sequence of CDROM, C, A and
start running that is one option.

The second option is Start Win 98, after the initial boot process is over
and before it displays the banner, press <ctrl> key and will give u the boot
options. Go to command prompt, assuming that ur CD got detected in the
process, access the CD and run autoboot and move on to upgrade option and
the rest is history.

The third option is to go to Win98 and make bootable floppies of Linux,
through the Dosutils directory.

Hope atleast one of this provides u solution to restore ur system back!!

Best Wishes
