the solution to your problem is the absolutely fantastic piece of
software most probably already installed on your system called
procmail.

this is an extremely sophisticated tool that lets you do just about
whatever you want with your mail messages, offline or as they get
delivered to your machine.

from simple mail forwarding to entire mailling list management, sorting
et... the works.
