hello muthu,
I just tried this on my system.

With each boot image you can associate a password ( in the lilo.conf)
and you will not be allowed to boot with that image without the passwd.
init or not init.

the thing to remember however is that the lilo.conf contains the
password in unencrypted form, so remember to change its permission,
