Thanks Atul, Chetan, Sharad, Vivek and Vinand for all your kind help.
Yes finally the program got thru. 
Yes Sharad, the code should be '!=' not '=='.
Yes Vinand, using crypt.h, the compiler doesn't show that warning. So
it's cleanly compiled now.
