gnome problem

I have installed gnome as explained in May PCQuest. During installtion i
got message that /usr/gnome/help could not be deleted. Dir not empty.
and one more error msg also I got after I gave the command rpm  -Uvh
*.rpm. When i changed .Xclients file as given and run the gnome, i found
many menus like background etc not working. For html page I got 'open
with netscape' submenu. When i activated, nothing happens. I did alt
+F2, ifound that of error msgs. GTK error etc. I wanted to catch them.
Any solutions?
