I doubt that you got this from DQ! If you did, please let me know the issue
and page number - heads will roll!

The difference between the 486sx and dx models was, as far as I remember,
the absence/presence of a numeric co-processor. (Arun, correct me I am
wrong).

The Overdrive processors were *meant* to disable the existing processor
while the OD was plugged in - because the the OD replaced the processor with
a highspeed one.
