I was running Debian 2.1 on a K6/266 over clocked to 300 an a gvc mb
for over 6 months with no probs whatsoever. I have just finished
upgrading to K62-350 on an ASUS P5AB main board. Right now the machine
is stable and i will soon over clock it to 400!
Certain Socket7 MB's with VIA chipsets have a bug(or feature ?)which
will hang the machine when sound is played using the dma channel. The
kernel will report this when booting with the mesg
" ISA DMA workaround enabled ". Documentation is available in
/src/Documentation.
The price/performance ratio of K6(2) is incredible which makes it my
favorite processor currently !
