I'd be uncomfortable with that. While it is true that this is a public
forum, and the messages are archived for public viewing, it is a different
story if someone would take messages (a flame war, for example) and
republish them in a different context.
SlashDot ran into exactly this issue a few months back when they
republished messages posted there. Major outcry, and SlashDot had to do
some damage control.
In general, it would be safer to say that a message posted is property
of the owner and s/he should be contacted if republishing is desired.
