Hi vinu,
  There are two ways you can set the proxy for lynx,
1. set the enviorment variable http_proxy as (type it into the shell)
 

           export http_proxy = "http://192.x.xxx.xx:8080";

2. or set the proxy setting in the /etc/lynx.cfg  file..  ( examples are there in the file)
