downloaders for linux

hi
  i down loaded the downloader for x for RH6.2
At a time it only downloads only one file.
Rest all is fine about the downloader.
Do we have a downloader for linux which can download
multiple files at a time like getright.
Also tell me how to configure the lynx browser 
for using a proxy....
