hey, i know that! but what the software i want to
install doesnt happen to be an rpm? i have this
xps.tar.gz which wants me to compile it. do you do it
with one click? no, of course!

IMHO, Linux is still better!! you download a rpm.
doubleclick. it gets
installed. you don't have to even reboot the m/c
Also it won't ask you dumb questions as to 'whether i
want to install
the packages or not??'
