kernel Panic ( Aiee .... )

Dear Friends

I use Red Hat 6.2 ( Kernel 2.2.14-5.0 ). It gave following message
sometimes ( exactly two times happen till now ) and hangs.
	" .....	Aiee, killing interrupt handler
	Kernel panic: Attempted to kill the idle tasks!
	In interrupt handler - not syning		"

What is the significance of this message. After 2nd time this happens, on
rebooting, my serial card stop working with message "Device or resource
busy"
