You can make it like this

1>  Have DOS as your first primary partition, put extended (how many upto
you), then leave one extended partition of windows to install linux in
it.And use fdisk while installing in linux. (make sure your /boot comes
within first 1024 cylinders,

DOS *		|----> make sure these both take max 7GB
dos extended	|
dos extended (put linux in this)
dos extended

Don't worry, you can create extended partitions in linux (windows extended
partition).

2> Have DOS as your primary partition (no extended) size, rest linux.

Dos * primary
Linux

3> install linux "only" ...Goodbye windows :-)
