I am Dumb guy-wanted to know abt dumb terminal!

Dear Sir,

Iam a AIX and NT?!!! guy now we changed to Linux as of you all!!!

I am very new to Linux and Iam using RedHat Linux 6.2. I wanted to know how
to configure DUMB TERMINAL in RHLinux 6.2.

I connected a dumb terminal in com1(ttyS0) and edited the "/etc/inittab" and
added the following line (i tried with so many options)

s0:123:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyS0 vt100
&
S0:123:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyS0 -L 9600 vt100
&
s0:123:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyS0 DT9600 vt100

But Iam not getting login prompt at Dumb terminal.

But if I give "cat /some_file > /dev/ttyS0" Iam able to see the result in
Terminal.

Please help me what to do..
