System Configuration

Hi ;
   I'm running Linux in runlevel 5 . This means that
the Linux running X windows automatically. How do I
terminate X windows & switch to  terminal text mode ?
   After installed Linux 6.2 I couldn't found inetd .
Is my setup correct without inetd ?
    When I look at those files under rc3.d
directory.Some proceccess that I needed to turn on are
missing . Can I copy those files (Sxxx) from rc5.d if
I decided to run at level 3? 
     Please advise .
