did anybody faced problems in java application running under linux

hi,
i recently found that java is facing problem of plateform independence under
OS/2 and Mac . they say that it hangs Mac and app craches under OS/2.
did anybody tryed any app (java based) & found the same prob under Linux, I
hope it isnt much of a trouble under linux.
