then probably the suspected problems of harddisk partitions do not exist.
(if you are just trying thesystem out, you could make the partitions simpler
by just creating two partitions , after your 4.5 Gb for Win9x. /= 1.7Mb and
swap=127Mb. that should get the basic partitions ready for installation.)

still if the installation hangs mid-way between the "preparing to install"
process, and you ask a one liner reason from me, i would almost certainly
point to memory problems....

anyone else with other reasons??
