When I got such messages, the system had crashed.
I was using RH 6.2 then.
I was told it was because of improper installation.
If you have prepared a Restore disk while installing Linux, you
may be able to restore your system.

i have had a similar problem recently (haven't been able to boot since then)
but in my case the machine never went on the net, i believe there somthing
else to it than some hacker..
i am using Mandrake 7.2
neway the enlighted ones please help....
