Hi:-)
   To start linux u first need to install some linux distribution then u can
start making yourself familier with some desktop my opinion is KDE2 is the
best and then switch to shell programing and other things. This was the way i
started. As for spred sheet kde2 comes with koffice which has a spred shhet
generation program.
