Modules not found

During my booting process  I get the message modules.dep not found . So i
searched the system and found 2 file in dir
/lib/modules/2.2.16-22/modules.dep
/lib/modules/2.2.16-22enterprise/modules.dep

But it is searching in directory /lib/modules/2.2.16-22BOOT/ so i checked
uname -r
that is also coming to be 2.2.16-22BOOT.
So my ethernet drivrs are unable to load also i created
/lib/modules/2.2.16-22BOOT/ and dumped the contents of both dir mentioned
above it give long lis of msgs some identifiers not resolved .
Also i did insmod driver.o it also gave same unresolved identifiers .
How can i correct this problem?
