RE: Ethernet Card

try netconfig command and just tell me what happened .
( also tell me what result do you get when you execute "ifconfig eth0".

also , 
  i have a problem
   when i say startx i get a error saying "hostname lookup failure" how ever
i can cooly access the net.
  any suggestions are welcome.

Yeah the adapter is enabled in linuxconf.
