Connect:No response to http requests

hi,
BTW there is another machine which connects to the ISP and I can
ping both the DNS servers from the linux 6.2 box.
But does not connect to yahoo or anything else.
resolve.conf has two DNS enteries of the ISP which can be pinged.
It has an intex ethernet card which works well on the lan.

Could it be compatibility problems?

These set of machines have been bothering me for a week now.
I have set all these things on my home linux box but these two...
It has a 'Tomato' mother board, SiS 6215 ( which I use at home ), a GVC 56K modem and RH6.2.
I could not set up X-Windows for the Sis card which worked like a gem
when I checked it on my pc with the previous configurations. i.e. card works fine.
These seem to have extraordinary hardware and are puzzling me.

andrew
