Re: httpd.conf file for Apache/1.3.12 Server - thanx a lot

My error file looked something like this -
[Thu Nov 16 11:49:26 2000] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration: home/httpd/html/
[Thu Nov 16 11:49:39 2000] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration: home/httpd/html/
[Thu Nov 16 11:56:46 2000] [warn] NameVirtualHost localhost:80 has no VirtualHosts
[Thu Nov 16 11:56:46 2000] [crit] (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to port 80
[Thu Nov 16 11:56:53 2000] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration: home/httpd/html/
[Thu Nov 16 11:57:06 2000] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration: home/httpd/html/

Actually after installing Linux afresh, I used to get the error message Cannot
strat httpd because ServerName not defined. I did some kida using linuxconf and
made things worse. Though httpd used to start it used to deny all requests - ie
403 forbidden - you are not permitted to access '/' at this server.

Finaly thanx to Chetan who posted me his httpd.conf file. Now it is up and
running but still I wud like to know where I went wrong. I am still in the
investigations and comparing the two files. The older on and the new which
Chetan sent.

Maybe you can help.

Thanx for the help extended anyway.

Goldwyn :o)
