SETI at home: Version 3.0 now available

Hi people,

A new version (3.0) of the SETI@home client has been released. Older 2.* and
1.* clients will cease to get new units on November 11, 2000. All those who
are running these clients should update to 3.0. Download the new clients
from:

There have been some major changes to the scientific process in these new
clients. For more details refer to:

Briefly... The clients now would do processing 60% faster due to a new FFT
algo. However, many new processes have been added to the experiment and the
overall expectation is that a given unit will take about 40% *more* time to
complete. Don't be disheartened though, read the URL given above for
