Crashed hard disk.

	When you're booting, go into failsafe mode , or if you don't
reach even that stage, AFAIK , RH drops you into a weird root shell -- 
go in, and you wont have stuff mounted -- run e2fsck and say "Yes" to
everything it wants to fix -- and you should be okay.
