RE: problem with mail server



Well, since `whois bos4.com` returns no match
I can't really test this, but from what you've
said it looks like you don't have a DNS entry
for bos4.com, only for www.bos4.com.

See if you can mail to people @www.bos4.com.
If you can, that confirms the above.  If not,
maybe you don't have the MX (Mail eXchanger)
DNS entry configured.

Of course the MX record is only used for mail,
so that wouldn't be the source of your "can't
ping bos4.com" problem, which leads us back
to the first solution.

Summary:  You probably don't have a DNS entry
for bos4.com.  You may not have a valid MX
record.  If your MX record points to bos4.com
and bos4.com doesn't have a proper DNS record
then the MX record is useless.  Funny how
it keeps pointing back to no DNS record for
bos4.com, so start there.
