yes , bad idea. better method : install windows and then linux.

you want to look at : DOS/Windows -> Linux HOWTO specifically and a lot of
other things in the "newbie" section.

Technical phrase : "I'm logged in as root" ... not ROOT - linux is case
sensitive.

$ man useradd

and before you ask

$ man passwd
