Re: linux laptop help

thats a lot of information ravi. thank you. i feel quite spiked up by your
words now. i better try it myself. my ibm thinkpad is an i series with a P
II 266 and 96 MB RAM. i have been able to install linux on the laptop and it
dual boots without any problems. the x is too configured. the problem is
sound and pcmcia devices. the problem i suspect is some irq clash. when my
sound card initialises the pcmcia fails. when i even try playing sound the
machine hangs and refuses to do anything.

the sites u had given r quite familiar to me. i have gathered lots of
information from there. so u right in that aspect.
