I guess u have a parallel IDE CDROM drive. In that case you will
have to install a 2.2.x kernel (RH 6.x should have it). And read the docs
for the paride module. Try doing the mount on a RH 6.x m/c and see if it
works. If it doesnt read the paride.txt that comes with the kernel docs.
If u have installed the kernel sources it should be in
/usr/src/linux<kernel-version>/Documentation/

In the above case (parallel port CD) it may not be the right
device.

Yes. That should be enough to hold the CD contents for you to
install off NFS or ftp or even off a hard disk.

cd /usr/doc/HOWTO/mini
less Linux+*
(get a cup of coffee and read the docs! :)
After doing this if you have the time poke around in /usr/doc/ and become
a linux guru!
