Well, the original problem was that he wasnt able to run X since
his card was not supported and not exactly to live ont he bleeding edge,
so, Isnt it a better solution for him to
1. Install Slink
2. download the latest x*.deb packages for slink and enjoy debian?
You should be able to get the latest x packages for slink (!=
latest x packages for potato :() from
here

Branden is a debian developer. So dont worry. Unfortunately only
3.3.4 is packaged.
