Kernel Upgrade

Hi all:
	We are running RH 5.2 on our Departmental Computer Facility
server on which quite a few machines are dependant. We plan to upgrade the
kernel and a few other things to the RH 6 release. I tried doing this at
home but could not. Can you please give me proper guidance and
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES to be taken when I do this? The work may be done
overnight when nothing else is going on.

	Also, I had posted a mail about vmware. Actually, we will be
running it on Win NT and the vm will run on linux. Anybody's tried this?
If so, please give me your opinion.
