Email on Linux

Hello,

I don't know anything about M$ way to handle mail (except the grumbles of
my friends about their problems), but I keep a Linux mail server for my
institution.

It was done nearly 'out the box', using sendmail, and it worked without
any flaw for 3 years.

Some colleagues in the same situation have chosen NT (they were NT
lovers) and are now switching to Linux for stability, cost and
performance. [one of the center is the main Computer Center of our
Ministry, formely NT centric...]

I leave sendmail one month ago to experiment with EXIM (www.exim.org)
(driving the whole campus of Cambridge, UK) for its ability to filter
easily the mails (I targeted virus scanning, spamming, autoconversion from
incoming WORD format to HTML ...)
It worked easily, and offers a nice graphical monitor to follow the mail
traffic.

Hoping it helps you,
