the rpm4 rpm which is on the rh7 cd is in rpm4 format so u can't install
it on a rpm3 based machine like rh6.2.

you will need the following rpm3 format rpms ...

db3-3.1.14-0.3.6x.i386.rpm
db3-devel-3.1.14-0.3.6x.i386.rpm
db3-utils-3.1.14-0.3.6x.i386.rpm
popt-1.6-6x.i386.rpm
rpm-4.0-6x.i386.rpm
rpm-build-4.0-6x.i386.rpm
rpm-devel-4.0-6x.i386.rpm
rpm-python-4.0-6x.i386.rpm

to upgrade properly to rpm4.

there are detailed instructions on redhats site on how to go about this
upgrade process precautions to be taken etc etc.
