Hi,

i think its a good idea to do 'make clean' after doing 'make dep'...
and don't forget to run /sbin/lilo after you update /etc/lilo.conf...

maybe that'll solve your problem

hello friends
  i have downloaded the new kernel 2.2.17 from
kernel.org, i have doen the following steps
  1. removed the complete directory from
/usr/src/linux
  2. make menuconfig
  3. make dep
  4. make bzImage
  5. make modules
  6. copyied the bzimage to /boot
  7. updated the lilo.conf

but the new image get hooked up, can some tell me
anything has to be doen. this urgent get back soon
