I guess that this can be explained quite simply! Hard disks are named hda,
hda0... because you can divide a hard disk into partitions, so there are two
levels of devices, but floppy disks have a single partition, so fda does not
make any sense!!! insted you have fd0,fd1,etc...
I might not be very clear over here, but i guess that u get the message!!!
