i don't think windows fdisk will recognize the Linux partitions .. atleast the
win98 fdisk does not recognize linux partitions in the extended partition.

to delete the linux partitions, boot into the installation, delete the
partitions and then reboot.
if lilo is in MBR, fdisk/mbr will work in WIN 9x but not in WinNT.

lilo -u maybe a better option. this has to be done before deleting the
partitions of course
