Thank you Shanu, Khader, I could find out to add
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
 in conf.modules to get my lpt1 detected (Oh yes! - Thanks you Atul for
this webpage at exochore.com!)
But now, my printer is spweing out empty pages! (HP Laser Jet 2100 TN-
thjoug it is network printer, it is connected to lpt1. I am trying
testprint from printtool- The third option of this test, i.e., send text
to ascii port is working!) Please help!
