[LI] Help: POP thru proxy



Hi Sekhar,

What sort of proxy is this?  If it's a SOCKS-based proxy, there's no
problem (either socksify fetchmail or runsocks fetchmail with the
appropriate /etc/socks.conf will do the trick).  If the proxy only
handles HTTP and FTP, then you have a problem.

To check for socks, telnet port 1080 of the proxy server.  If it
allows a connect, SOCKS is enabled.
