[LI] sendmail and Ishmail, difference between IMAP,POP3,SMTP

Hi Friends,

>From yesterday I have started using *Ishmail* Email client. It uses sendmail for mail
delivery. It has a very nice user interface and easy to use. However you cannot directly
download mails from pop3 server. As per the author it supports IMAP. pop3 support is
still not present. Due to this I am downloading my mail using Kmail but Reading and
sending of mail through *Ishmail*. I downloaded static binaries of *Ishmail* from
freshmeat.

Now my problem is hostname of my machine is rajesh and my domain name is com. Due to
this the from address is sent as rajesh@com. Some mails might have gone with this
address, I am *sorry* for that. How Should I tell sendmail to put
rfowkar@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx as from address?

Can anybody enlighten me on the differences between IMAP, POP3 and SMTP.

This mail I am sending from Kmail. Since the earlier mail has not
reached the list.
