Try this - which majordomo and whereis majordomo.  Same case with, say,
PERL or <g> Sendmail.  Anything like this will be in several directories,
but ~you~ will only call it from one specific directory - say /usr/lib or
/usr/local/bin or whatever.

/usr/lib/majordomo will contain the files you need to point to.

No.  Majordomo works quite well out of the box, so you don't need to hack
majordomo.cf to change /etc/ to /var/lib.  You have to hack it to include
your own filters (close the list to non subscribers, moderate all posts /
posts from non subscribers etc etc).

Everything can be managed by changing the cf file.

Try MajorCool (a kewl web based interface for majordomo - needs a
javascript enabled browser for cutest effect) :)
