Re: [LI] How to connect to Oracle database on NT from Linux

HI
It is possible to connect to a oracle database on a remote machine whatever the os be..
U need to install sqlnet package for it .. Sqlnet is generally installed when u install tools like sql plus , developer 2000 and other such oracle tools .. Sqlnet is the communication tool which oracle uses..
A mere install is not going to help ,, u will also need to configure files like listener.ora , tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora.. For this i recommend that u read the Oracle documentations which are freely available from Oracele Technical Network
Hope this helps
Anand
