Dear Zafar,
	Have you tried disabling Virtual desktop from the XF86Config file? If 
not, here's how to do it :-
	Comment out (place a # mark) the line saying something like " Virtual 
1600 1200"  in all the Subsection(s) "Display" under the Section "Screen" in 
the file.
