Re: [LI] FreeBSD

Hi Satya,
I use freebsd !! And since you are already using
slackware ( assuming you have installed it yourself ),
installation of FreeBSD is no different !! Cause slackware uses
the BSD type of installation and which also happens to be similar
to the one used by FreeBSD. The only catch is about partitioning !!
Even that can be solved as you say that you have read the
Linux+FreeBSD mini HOWTO !! FreeBSD has this concept of
slices and partitions. So during the installation of FreeBSD you need
to first create a BSD slice and then in the later stage you create
partitions
in the slice ( An extended and logical partition analogy !! or is that same
;-)
and mount various directories on those partitions and then
install the packages. And there is a way of sharing the swap of Linux
and
FreeBSD, check that out also.
Happy Unixing................. ;o)

     Khader

P.S: For further queries on freebsd use the bsd-india mailing list.
