Hi Jeetendra Ahire,
You have just started the topic which has troubled every new user of LINUX -configuring your modem! You will be referred to various HOWTOs or MAN by various users and I am sure that most of it will not make sense to a new user. Try this for a change -visit http://www.linuxtopia.com/ and look under the heading LEARNTOs (look for one that start with modem or PPP) which explains the procedure (not concept) in a simple to follow manner. You may not understand anything(concept) of it but it will get your box running and soon you will start understanding how it works and these HOWTOs & MAN do make sense (u just need to get a hang of this OS). If it still does not run then check the compatibility of your modem at http://www.o2.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html . This page lists hundreds of modems with their status of compatibility with LINUX (it is not exhaustive by any means but it will serve your purpose). Many of the modems(WinModems) available in the market may not work with LINUX.
I hope this will suffice.
BTW get familiar with the basic LINUX commands (like ls,cd,pwd,cp,mv and practice how to use text editors say pico ,pine - there are many in LINUX) before you set out to set up your PPP connection, there is a LEARNTO for that too just in casr you find it handy.
Bye
