[LI] CD-R for Linux

Hello
I have a cd-R and dvd drives for my machine.
the default boot up is only with dvd because linux
does not support dvd i am unable to load linux from
cd-R.
i tried to change the bios setting but bios is not
supportng it. i want to know how to solve the problem.
is there any way i can boot floppy and access the cd-R
instead of DVD and then Load linux through it.
