[LI] error while writing on C-drive!!!!

hi all,
i have mounted my c-drive(hda1). But whenever i use cp, mv or write using vi
to write a file onto this partition it gives this error(though the operation
is always completed successfully):

UMSDOS_notify_change: no EMD file linux/--linux-.---
cp: cannot create regular file `/mnt/c-drive/linux/net-err.txt': Operation
not permitted

where mnt is the directory where i have mounted my cdrom,floppy & c-drive(on
which i have windows 95). Linux is a directory i had created while running
win95.
for mounting i use -t umsdos option..
I guess that explains all , hope someone out there has the solution..
