Yes it is possible.  What do you have set in XConfig under
'Communication'?  If your Linux box is running XDM (X Display Manager) then
you can set 'Communication' to XDMCP broadcast or XDMCP direct.  This way
your entire Linux desktop appears withing an eXceed window.

If you don't have XDM running on Linux you can look into xstart under
eXceed.
