if u boot with lilo try giving <ur linux label> single at the "LILO boot:",
the machine should boot into
single user mode, very dangerous mode, edit the /etc/inittab to show the
first uncommended
line to have '3' instead of '5'. save and shutdown-restart. u should  be in
text mode now.

search the archives for SiS 6202 card config.  well if u find it don't
forget to post it somewhere on the net
