Re: [LI] sound blaster

Hi

If you have windows or If your bios shows the Resources used by ISA cards then
its the easier way of finding it. or else

a). Backup your /etc/isapnp.conf and remove this file or rename it.

b). Reboot your m/c (May be COLD boot) into linux.

  c). Now use pnpdump -d > test.isapnp.conf

d). Go thro the test.isapnp.conf file to see what the bios sets your card to
or what is the default setting for your card.

e). Once you have this you can edit this file suitable based on the knowledge
you have about your card, and create the new isapnp.conf in /etc.

Note: that many times the isapnp.conf generated during sound configuration
may not work fully satisfactoraly. You will have to edit it based on the
knowledge you have about your card and your system's other cards to decide the
proper setting in the isapnp.conf.

f). You may have to update the conf.modules to specify the sound driver
module to be loaded at boot time and the parameters (like IOPort, Interrupt,
dma etc) to be passed to it. These parameters should match your
/etc/isapnp.conf's entries.
